CURTISS-WRIGHT FLOW CONTROL’S EST GROUP LAUNCHES NEW GRIPTIGHT® ISOLATION PLUG
Revolutionizes Isolation and Testing of Pipe Connections with its Unique Safety Features
FALLS CHURCH, VA – July 10, 2012
Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company announced today that its business unit, EST Group, is introducing its new GripTight® Isolation Plug, the latest addition to its pipe plugs and pressure testing tools. It offers advances in performance and safety to improve pressure testing of pipe, pipelines and pressure vessels.
The GripTight® Isolation Plug integrates double block and bleed sealing technology with EST Group’s reliable GripTight® Gripping design. The GripTight® grippers enhance operational safety, minimizing the risk of accidental plug blowout or expulsion due to improper use or unexpected upstream pressure in the line. The isolation plug is capable of withstanding upstream pressures up to 1,440 psig (100 Barg). As the upstream pressure increases, the GripTight® grippers actually use the pressure to grip more securely against the pipe’s inner diameter.
"For over 40 years, EST Group has developed and provided industry-leading products and solutions,” said David Linton, President, Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company and Co-Chief Operating Officer, Curtiss-Wright Corporation. “The introduction of the GripTight® Isolation Plug is more than just the launch of a new product; it’s an extension of CWFC’s commitment to innovation and unyielding drive to provide our customers unique solutions to their most critical challenges.”
“We are pleased to offer continued value with our latest product offering," commented Jim Berneski, General Manager, EST Group. "The GripTight® Isolation Plug strongly complements our existing line of pipe plugs and pressure testing tools, which are utilized worldwide in the refining, chemical, shipbuilding, industrial manufacturing, fossil and nuclear power, and new plant construction and expansion projects.”
